Rociel Needs to Undergo Chemotherapy and Radiation Treatment

...

Greetings! My name is Lia, from the Philippines. I am here to talk about my mom, Rociel.Like everybody else, we hoped that the year 2021 would somehow be better. That it will be a year full of hope while recovering from all the burdens we all had since the pandemic has started. The world gained a big step into putting an end to the pandemic, our fight with the COVID-19, when vaccines were started to be introduced to almost all of the countries. Just when my mom was given her first dose of vaccine, she got infected with the virus (last July 2021) and got hospitalized for a month. She was diagnosed with severe pneumonia. She fought the virus as hard as she can to survive. With the help of the health workers, our family as her support system, and with God’s grace, she was able to recover from the deadly virus.Back then, she was already recovering well from the trauma that she went through physically and mentally from her tough fight in battling COVID-19. When suddenly, she started to vomit almost everyday and always had a bloated stomach which was already affecting her appetite and food intake, that’s when we decided to get her checked. Four months after surviving COVID-19, it is with a heavy heart that my mom got diagnosed with stage 2 gastric cancer. It has been seen that gastric masses has obstructed her stomach which was causing what she was experiencing. After several tests, the biopsy showed that the mass is malignant and has already spread in her pancreas. She underwent an operation (subtotal gastrectomy) to remove all the masses from her stomach. The tissue results show that there are still microscopic cancer cells seen in her stomach, that is why she has to undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatment. With the situation that we have, we badly need financial assistance to support all her treatment since we have already used all our resources to pay for her COVID-19 hospitalization, and stomach operation. She would always lend a hand to whoever needs help in any way that she can. This time she needs your help. Please help and support my mom’s treatment.
